e-solutions’s mission is to help drive new sources of business that can address social problems through our business creation and coordination – in which we design a better future and create new and sustainable value to the society.
Three Axes of ‘Business Creation and Coordination’ Activities
1. Social Problems
Rather than blindly accepting the status quo, e-solutions takes on challenges that can help positively impact our community, in order to help contribute to a more sustainable society.
2. Future Design
We look beyond the immediacy of problems and seek to design for the future. We aspire to help create a “legacy” of continually positive impact in our community and society.
e-solutions looks to drive new streams of high-value, sustainable business to our partners. This value creation can be essential in leaving a long-term, positive impact on our community.
We planned and managed a national campaign for reducing carbon emission – best known for introducing the concept ‘Cool Biz’ to Japanese society. Within 5 years, the participants reached nearly 35,000 companies and more than 334,000 individuals – making it one of the historical national movements in Japan.
With the aim to promote the export of Japanese Smart City solutions, we established Smart City Consortium, inviting 27 companies from various sectors that make up a ‘Smart City’ and promoted its businesses in both domestic and international projects.
In order to keep the recovery momentum from the Great East Japan Earthquake, we planted cherry trees named “Haruka” as a symbol of recovery across Japan, and each year, hosted an event in Fukushima prefecture to commemorate and to send out the message of its firm progress towards recovery.
The success of businesses allows us, and future generations, to enjoy a better standard of living. However, neither businesses or people
exist in a vacuum—both need a sustainable society to thrive. e-solutions is appreciative of the society we thrive in, and we aspire to
better our society, by shepherding business solutions that can also help alleviate some of the issues faced in our community.
Being the ‘Conductor’
The goal of using ‘business creation and coordination’ to better our community cannot be pursued by e-solutions alone – we have a
variety of business partners who partner with us to address issues of importance to society. An orchestra conductor cannot play the
instruments themselves. But just as importantly, the conductor can direct the orchestra, using their understanding of the strengths of
each musician. The direction of who should play, at which timing, and how should they play, in order to create the best harmony,
is a key function in an orchestral production. e-solutions views itself much like a conductor, producing new business opportunity
creation with our orchestra of partners.
Identifying the Challenge
Not only does e-solutions look at the data and accurately grasp the challenge, it takes a holistic view, observing the challenges through the lens of how it fits into the ‘holistic picture’ of the current societal landscape.
of the Challenge
e-solutions identifies the players related to the problem at hand. We then analyze and identify the ‘mechanism’ of the challenge – how each players’ challenges converge and how the relationships between the players may shift in the future.
Designing the Solution
e-solutions designs a solution that can close the gap between success and the status quo and this designed solution is evaluated within our view of the “holistic picture,”. Then e-solutions identifies each partners’ role – with an understanding of each players’ challenges, needs, and strengths. By determining which partners play which role, and at what time, we work towards a successful solution.
e-solutions develops partnerships with each player/partner, proposes a hypothesis for coming to a successful solution, and works with our partners to realize our vision for success.
e-solutions facilitates and coordinates efforts between multiple partners, each of whom has different expertise and mission, working towards a common goal – the goal of realizing a successful business and the betterment of society.
