“Measles Eradication Program” Strategy Building and Execution Support

With Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid (2007) , built strategies for “Measles Eradication Program.” Based on this strategy, supported its awareness campaign in 2008.

Awareness campaign for vaccination was necessary
In 2007, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare formulated a “Measles Eradication Program” aiming to reach 95% antibodies among Japanese citizens. And in order to host sessions to provide vaccination targeted towards students aged at third term (7th grader) and the fourth term (10th grader) from April 2008, awareness campaign was necessary.

Built strategies for “Measles Eradication Program.”
With Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid (2007) , e-solutions assisted in building strategies for “Measles Eradication Program.” To ensure the efficient outreach within limited budget, we proposed our method regarding how to involve private companies based on our “ Team -6%,” which is Ministry of the Environment National movement to prevent global warming. We also created “unified logo, “campaign implementation plan,” and “execution plan” so that supporting companies could send consistent messaging at synchronized timing.
Based on this strategy, provided execution support for its awareness campaign in 2008.

Behavior change via awareness campaign
Based on the strategy which was complied a year prior, we ran an awareness campaign especially with the following 4 initiatives.

  1. Established “Execution Office”
  2. Alignment within organizations and corporates
  3. Created unified messaging
  4. Supported corporates’ awareness /education

After some period has passed, we ran an impact survey among citizens and responsible staff at corporates (as of March 2009) and confirmed that compared to the those who are not aware of the “Eradication Program” , among the people who are aware of the “Measles Eradication Program” each of below index rose: understanding about measles at 31.2%, motivation for measles vaccination at 13.6%. Also it was confirmed that the people who are aware of the “Measles Eradication Program” have impressions towards supporting companies such as “Company that is passionate for CSR activities,” “ Company with great service,” “Reliable company.”
